Description

Geragen-D Eye/Ear Drops is a combination medicine which may be indicated for the treatment of eye conditions (swelling, pain, redness, dry eyes, etc.) which are responsive to steroids and where bacterial infections or risks of bacterial infections exist. It may also be used to treat certain infections of the ear canal caused by susceptible bacteria.

Contact lens

It is advised that you consult your doctor as well as the pharmacist to know whether if you can use the contact lenses during treatment with this medicine. If usage of contact lenses is allowed, remove them before administration of the medicine and you can reinsert the contact lenses 10 to 15 minutes post-administration.

Missed Dose

Administer the missed dose as soon as you remember. It is advisable to skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not instill a double dose to make up for the missed one.

How it works

Gentamicin works by inhibiting the protein synthesis which is essential for the bacteria to grow. Dexamethasone works by decreasing the release of certain substances that cause swelling. It also works by suppressing or partially preventing the effect of the immune system. Boric Acid relieves eye irritation. Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose lubricates the eyes and relieves dryness
