Description

Clofranil 75 MG Tablet SR is a tricyclic antidepressant medicine that contains Clomipramine. It is used in the treatment of psychological conditions like obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, and anxiety disorders like panic attacks. It is also used in the treatment of muscle weakness associated with a sleep disorder called narcolepsy. It works by increasing the levels of a chemical substance called serotonin in the brain, which helps in regulating mood and treating depression. Clofranil 75 MG Tablet SR may cause some common side effects like dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, stomach upset, indigestion, and constipation. Do not drive vehicles or operate machines after taking this medicine, as it may cause dizziness and drowsiness. It may cause intense vertigo or dizziness when you suddenly stand up, so it is advised that you rise slowly and with support if you have been sitting or lying down. It may also lead to weight gain in some people. Inform your doctor if any of these side effects persist or worsen. Clofranil 75 MG Tablet SR should be taken with food or as prescribed by your doctor. For ease of remembering, take this medicine every day at the same time. Clofranil 75 MG Tablet SR is used to treat the symptoms of depression, such as anxiety, irritability, lack of concentration, emotional distress, etc. It can arise in various forms, including menopausal depression (depression that occurs after menopause), psychogenic depression, masked depression (depression with more physical symptoms than psychological ones), depressive neuroses (prolonged mild depression in an unstable person), dysphoria (lack of interest), and depression in alcoholics or drug addicts.

Cataplexy associated with narcolepsy

Clofranil 75 MG Tablet SR may be used in the treatment of cataplexy (sudden muscle weakness) associated with narcolepsy, which is a neurological disorder that causes excessive sleepiness during the day, sudden loss of consciousness, and unexpected episodes of falling asleep, even in the middle of an activity or conversation.

Suicidal thoughts

Serotonin Syndrome

Serotonin syndrome is when your body has too much of a chemical called serotonin, usually because of a medication. Clofranil 75 MG Tablet SR may cause serotonin syndrome. Immediate medical treatment should be initiated if any of the following symptoms appear: agitation, hallucinations, dizziness, tremors, seizures, nausea, and vomiting.

Effect on heart

Clofranil 75 MG Tablet SR may lower blood pressure and therefore should be used with caution if you have a history of heart conditions. Close monitoring of blood pressure is necessary. Inform the doctor if any symptoms such as dizziness or lightheadedness appear.

Changes in weight
