Description

Clindatime 150 MG Capsule is a lincosamide antibiotic used for the treatment of bacterial infections of the lungs, skin, bones, joints, stomach, and intestine. It is also used in post-surgical conditions to avoid infections at the site of surgery. This capsule stops the growth of bacteria causing the infection. It is not effective against infections caused by viruses. Common side effects are diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, weakness, nausea, and vomiting. Use it cautiously in individuals with gastrointestinal (mouth to anus) diseases, particularly colitis (swelling of the inner lining of the colon) due to the risk of severe diarrhoea. Clindatime 150 MG Capsule should only be used to treat or prevent infections that are caused by bacteria. Once an antibiotic is started, it is always recommended to finish the entire course of treatment. You can take this medicine with or without food. For the ease of remembering, take it around the same time every day.

What is it prescribed for?

Lower Respiratory Tract Infection

Clindatime 150 MG Capsule is used to treat the following lower respiratory tract infections: 1. Pneumonia is an infection of the air sacs in the lungs (either single or both lungs). It can be bacterial and viral. Clindatime 150 MG Capsule is used to treat pneumonia caused by bacteria. 2. Bronchitis is the swelling and irritation of bronchial tubes that regulates air passage in the lungs. Clindatime 150 MG Capsule is used to treat bronchitis caused by bacteria.

Skin and soft tissue infections

Skin and soft tissue infections occur when the bacteria invade the skin and its supporting structures. Clindatime 150 MG Capsule is used to treat all skin infections caused by bacteria.

Stomach and intestinal infections

Bacterial gastrointestinal infections are stomach and intestinal infections caused by bacteria. Gastroenteritis is a common bacterial infection that affects the stomach and intestines. Clindatime 150 MG Capsule is used to treat bacterial gastroenteritis.

Bacterial vaginitis

Bacterial vaginitis (BV) is an infection of the vagina caused by an overgrowth of bacteria that live inside the vagina. Your vagina contains good and bad bacteria. Good bacteria helps to keep the vagina healthy. In cases of BV, there is an excess of bad bacteria which upsets the normal balance of vaginal bacteria. It is a common condition in women and can be treated by antibiotics. Clindatime 150 MG Capsule is used for the treatment of BV.

Bone and Joint infections

Bone and joint infections occur in the bones and joints. Osteomyelitis is an infection of the bone and septic arthritis is an infection in a joint. These infections can occur due to a bone/joint injury or through blood by which bacteria, virus, or fungi invade a bone/joint. Clindatime 150 MG Capsule is used for the treatment of osteomyelitis and septic arthritis caused by bacteria.

General warnings

Diarrhoea

Clindatime 150 MG Capsule can cause diarrhoea because it may also kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine. Get emergency medical help if you experience severe diarrhoea that is watery or bloody. Call your pharmacist/doctor before taking anti-diarrhoeal medication.

Antibiotic resistance

Finish your entire course of treatment with Clindatime 150 MG Capsule, even if the condition gets better to avoid antibiotic resistance (the bacteria may become resistant to antibiotics). If you still feel unwell after completing your antibiotic course, make an appointment to consult your doctor.

Skin reactions

Clindatime 150 MG Capsule may cause serious skin reactions characterised by rash, peeling skin, swelling of your face or tongue, skin blisters in or around your nose, mouth, and eyes. Discontinue the medicine if these symptoms appear.

Impaired liver function

Patients with liver diseases need special consideration while taking Clindatime 150 MG Capsule due to the risk of liver damage. Dose adjustment should be done based on the clinical condition.

Missed Dose
