Description

Candid 1% Gel is an antifungal medicine used to treat fungal skin infections. It works by stopping the growth of the infection-causing fungi. Candid 1% Gel may rarely cause rash, burning sensation, irritation, itching, redness, etc., at the site of application. These symptoms usually subside on their own. However, consult your doctor if these symptoms persist or if they become severe. Candid 1% Gel should be applied topically to the affected part of your skin as directed by your doctor. Continue using this medicine for the prescribed duration to effectively treat your infection. Avoid contact with the eyes and mouth. Rinse thoroughly with water in case of accidental contact. Candid 1% Gel should be avoided if you are allergic to it. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using this gel.

What is it prescribed for?

Fungal skin infections

Candid 1% Gel is used to treat fungal skin infections such as ringworm (itchy, circular rash on your skin or scalp), athlete’s foot (itchy, scaly rash on your feet), fungal nappy rash (elevated red patches in the nappy region, especially in the skin folds around the groin and the thighs), and fungal sweat rash (red, itchy rash in warm and moist areas of your body). This medicine is also used to treat external thrush in women (a fungal infection that causes itching, burning, abnormal discharge, and irritation of the vagina and vulva) and men (redness and burning sensation around the head of the penis and under the foreskin that may be associated with a white discharge).

Candid 1% Gel is meant for external use only. Use it as directed by your doctor. Close the cover of the tube immediately after use to keep it clean and free from contamination. Use Candid 1% Gel at around the same time daily for the ease of remembrance. Do not cover the application area with bandages or other coverings unless instructed by your doctor. The infected area may cause itchiness. Avoid scratching as it will damage the surface of your skin and cause the infection to spread further. Do not share your towels, clothes, etc., with other people as you could spread the infection to them.
