Description

Amurol 100 MG Drops is a penicillin-type antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. This antibiotic is used to treat different types of bacterial infections of the throat, lungs, ears, nose, joints, urinary tract, and skin. Amurol 100 MG Drops is also used with other medications to kill helicobacter pylori bacteria that cause stomach ulcers. It stops the growth of bacteria causing the infection. It is not effective against infections caused by viruses. Side effects of Amurol 100 MG Drops are diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, weakness, nausea, and vomiting. Inform your doctor if you are allergic to penicillin. Use it cautiously in individuals with kidney problems. Amurol 100 MG Drops can make birth control pills less effective. You may be asked to take a different way of birth control methods to prevent unintended pregnancy. You can take Amurol 100 MG Drops with or without food. For the ease of remembering, take this amoxycillin suspension around the same time every day. Once an antibiotic is started, it is always recommended to finish the entire course of treatment. For the best results, take this antibiotic at evenly spaced times.

What is it prescribed for?

Acute otitis media

Otitis media (AOM), is an infection of the middle ear (the area behind the eardrum). Amurol 100 MG Drops is used to treat acute otitis media caused by bacteria.

Sinusitis

Sinusitis is the swelling of membranes that line your nose and surrounding sinuses. It is often caused by bacteria and sometimes, viruses and fungi. You may experience a stuffed nose and pain or pressure behind your eyes, nose, cheeks, or forehead. Amurol 100 MG Drops is used to treat bacterial sinusitis.

Community-Acquired Pneumonia

Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) refers to pneumonia (lung infection) that is acquired outside the hospital. CAP can be bacterial or viral. Amurol 100 MG Drops is used to treat CAP caused by bacteria like Mycoplasma pneumonia, Streptococcus pneumonia, Haemophilus influenzae, etc.

Skin and soft tissue infections

Skin and soft tissue infections occur when the bacteria invade the skin and its supporting structures. Amurol 100 MG Drops is used to treat all skin infections including abscess caused by bacteria.

Cystitis

Cystitis is the swelling of the urinary bladder usually caused by a bacterial infection. This is more common in women because their urethra is much shorter, which means bacteria can go into the bladder more easily. Amurol 100 MG Drops is used to treat cystitis caused by E.coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococci, and Klebsiella species.

Peptic Ulcer

A peptic ulcer is a sore or ulcer on the lining of your stomach or intestine. Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a bacteria that cause ulcers. Amurol 100 MG Drops is used in combination with antacids/anti-ulcerative medicines for the treatment of H. pylori infections that cause peptic ulcer.

Pharyngitis/Tonsilitis

Pharyngitis and tonsillitis are infections that cause swelling and soreness in the throat and tonsils. If this infection affects both the throat and the tonsils, then it would be called pharyngotonsillitis. Amurol 100 MG Drops is used to treat pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and/or pharyngotonsillitis.

Bronchitis

Bronchitis is the swelling and irritation of bronchial tubes that regulates air passage in the lungs. Amurol 100 MG Drops is used to treat bronchitis caused by bacteria.

Pyelonephritis

Pyelonephritis is the swelling of the kidneys due to bacterial infection. This infection starts in your urethra or bladder and spreads through the ureters to the kidneys. Amurol 100 MG Drops is used to treat acute pyelonephritis.

Antibiotic resistance

Driving or operating machinery

Amurol 100 MG Drops may cause dizziness, confusion, or fits in some people. Do not drive a vehicle or operate machinery after taking this medicine.

Mononucleosis

Mononucleosis is also called as kissing disease is an infection caused by Epstein-Barr virus. It is spread through saliva. People with mononucleosis may develop a maculopapular skin rash (flat and small raised bumps on the skin) after 5-10 days of treatment with Amurol 100 MG Drops and resolves within days of discontinuing the use. Amurol 100 MG Drops may not be appropriate medicine in patients with mononucleosis.

Colitis

Amurol 100 MG Drops can kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine and leads to diarrhoea. Therefore use Amurol 100 MG Drops with extreme caution in patients with gastrointestinal (mouth to anus) diseases, particularly colitis (swelling of the inner lining of the colon), since it may worsen the patient's condition.

Kidney Disease

Amurol 100 MG Drops is filtered by the kidney and moved out of the body through urine. Patients with kidney diseases need special consideration while taking Amurol 100 MG Drops due to the risk of kidney damage. Dose adjustment should be done based on the clinical condition.

Urine Sugar Test

Amurol 100 MG Drops is moved out from the body via urine. High urine concentrations of Amurol 100 MG Drops might give a false-positive result for the urine sugar test (test to determine the presence of glucose). Inform your doctor or lab technician about the use of Amurol 100 MG Drops before doing this test.
Take Amurol 100 MG Drops with or without food. Never take more than the prescribed dose. Take this amoxicillin suspension at around the same time daily. Do not give your medicine to other people even if their condition appears to be the same as yours. Amoxicillin suspension 125mg/5ml, 200mg/5ml, 250mg/5ml and 400mg/5ml are the available strengths for amoxicillin suspension.
