Description

Ampicillin (Cadila) 500 mg Injection is a penicillin-type antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. This antibiotic is used to treat different types of bacterial infections of the throat, lungs, ears, nose, heart, joints, brain, and urinary tract. It stops the growth of bacteria causing the infection by preventing bacterial cell wall formation. It is not effective against infections caused by viruses. Side effects of Ampicillin (Cadila) 500 mg Injection are diarrhoea, skin rash, pain at the injection site, headache, weakness, and dizziness. Inform your doctor if you are allergic to penicillin. Use it cautiously in individuals with kidney problems. Ampicillin (Cadila) 500 mg Injection is injected into a muscle or a vein. Your doctor will determine how many doses you need each day and how often the injections should be given. Once an antibiotic is started, it is always recommended to finish the entire course of treatment.

Endocarditis

Bacterial endocarditis is an infection in the inner lining of the heart caused by bacteria. It occurs when bacteria from another part of your body travel through the blood and attach to damaged areas of your heart. Ampicillin (Cadila) 500 mg Injection is used to treat bacterial endocarditis.

People with mononucleosis may develop a maculopapular skin rash (flat and small raised bumps on the skin) after 5-10 days of treatment with Ampicillin (Cadila) 500 mg Injection and resolves within days of discontinuing the use. Ampicillin (Cadila) 500 mg Injection may not be appropriate medicine in patients with mononucleosis.
