Description

Acespar 200 MG Tablet is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat a variety of lung infections. It should be avoided if you are allergic to the class of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones. Use with caution in the elderly population as it increases the risk of Tendinitis and tendon rupture.

General warnings

Tendinitis and tendon rupture

Use of Acespar 200 MG Tablet will increase the risk to develop tendinitis or tendon rupture during the treatment or several months after treatment. It will affect the shoulder, hand, back of the ankle, or other parts of the body. The risk is more if you are above 60 years of age and have a history of kidney, heart, or lung transplant and joint disease. You are also at high risk if you are on corticosteroids like dexamethasone, methylprednisolone or prednisone.

Drug-resistance

Usage of Acespar 200 MG Tablet without sufficient proof or suspicion of a bacterial infection should be avoided. Irrational dosing might fail in providing the benefits and even cause toxicity. It may also increase the risk of development of bacteria that is drug resistant.

Pediatric use

The safety and effectiveness of Acespar 200 MG Tablet has not been established in children and adolescents less than 18 years of age.

Central nervous system effects

Acespar 200 MG Tablet should be used with caution in patients suffering from epilepsy or other CNS disorders. Discontinue the treatment if any symptoms appear until the exact cause is identified.

Impaired liver function

Acespar 200 MG Tablet should be used with caution in the patients with the history of liver injury due to the increase in the risk of liver enzymes.

Impaired kidney function

Acespar 200 MG Tablet should be used with caution in the patients with kidney disease. Adequate hydration is maintained to prevent accumulation of the medicine. Dose of the medicine should be adjusted based on the CrCl.

Missed Dose

The missed dose should be taken as soon possible. It is advisable to skip the missed dose if it's already time for your next scheduled dose.

Overdose

Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case of overdose.

You may experience tremors, restlessness, anxiety, confusion, hallucinations if you suffer from CNS disorder and use Acespar 200 MG Tablet or other fluoroquinolones. Avoid using caffeine-containing products like coffee, chocolates and energy drinks.

Colitis

Avoid taking this medicine if you experience severe diarrhea, abdominal pain, and blood in stools. Inform the doctor if you have any gastrointestinal diseases. Drink adequate amount of water to prevent dehydration.

QT Prolongation

Avoid using this medicine if you experience any chest discomfort. Regular cardiac function tests are to be performed if you have any heart disease (arrhythmia) or family history of heart disease.
