Dr. Ashvind Bawa is a general, gastrointestinal and laparoscopic surgeon and Director of Surgical Services at Bawa Hospital, a surgical super-speciality centre in Civil Lines, Ludhiana, established in 1977.He holds an MS in Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), with over 20 years of clinical experience. He previously served 16 years as Professor and Head of Unit in the Department of Surgery at Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana, and has undertaken advanced training in hernia and abdominal wall surgery at Cleveland Clinic, USA and Shouldice Hospital, Canada.His surgical practice covers gallbladder and gallstone disease, appendicitis, gastrointestinal and abdominal surgery, breast lumps, piles, fissure and fistula, diabetic foot and non-healing wounds, and abdominal emergencies — performed predominantly through laparoscopic and minimal-access techniques.
