Thanks for making it clear that that the patient has spoken highly of me but it is you who felt humiliated because you weren't acknowledged to your satisfaction. Regarding my taking a leave if I was unwell, I was actually on leave and came to the clinic only for your patient because he needed urgent help. I expect you would have seen that there were no patients before and after you left. When I asked you if the point about the patient's problems at his home could be discussed at the next visit, I was coughing continuously and you should have had the sense to see that I was breathless and not in a position to talk. If it was that important to you, you should have clearly said that you will wait outside till I stop coughing and then talk to me. But you kept on speaking without even noticing how sick I was. Being a professional does not mean one stops being a human being. You also forgot to mention that I DID NOT TAKE ANY FEES for the consultation. Regarding asking about the change at workplace, yes, I wouldn't have changed the patient's medicines had I known that he had just got a new boss a few days back. I understand that such a change can be very stressful for a patient and would have gone extra slow with the change in medicines. Regarding moving out, yes, I did ask the patient why he hasn't considered moving out if he so many problems at home. That doesn't mean that I ordered him to pack his bags and leave the house immediately. I took the time to discuss the patient's problems at home and workplace knowing fully well that it was not at all required for prescribing medicines. I did it because I care for all my patients and want them to have a happy and healthy life. I have talked to the patient after going through the review and was told he was neither aware of what you have written nor does he share your opinion. It is the appreciation shown by people like him that gives me the courage to keep trying to help people. Otherwise I would have quit long back since there are a lot of people who can't ever be satisfied.
