Dr. Shivaraj Afzalpurkar

Dr Shivaraj Afzalpurkar is a young, dynamic Gastroenterologist, currently attached to Nanjappa Multi-speciality Hospitals, Davanagere, Karnataka. He is Ex Consultant of Apollo Multi-speciality Hospitals. He is awarded with Gold medal during his MD General Medicine. He completed superspecility in Gastroenterology in national board of examination, Delhi followed by fellowship in advanced Endoscopy and EUS. He has considerable exposure to ERCP, EUS, endoscopy and colonoscopy-related procedures, including banding, sclerotherapy, polypectomy, argon plasma coagulation (APC), Radio Frequency Ablation (RFA), peg tube placements and others. Further, he is well-versed in single balloon Enteroscopy and capsule endoscopy, as well as high-resolution manometry and motility study, oesophageal stricture dilatation, achalasia management and fibro scans. He has more than 30 research publications in various national and international journals along with chapters in several textbooks. His research articles were selected for various awards and grants like Poster of distinction award in APDW 2019, educational grant for original article in APDW 2020, Young investigator award in ISGKON 2021. He is life member of American college of Gastroenterology, Indian society of Gastroenterology, INASL, SGEI and MNAMS
