Dr. Gaurav Gupta

Dr. Gaurav Gupta is a consultant orthopedic surgeon specializing in arthroscopic surgery, sports injuries and joint reconstructions. He has extensive experience in this subspecialty, having worked at world renowned centres of excellence in UK, Australia Sweden before returning to India in December 2012. After completing DNB Orthopaedics, where he was the first successful candidate from eastern India after a hiatus of 9 years, Dr. Gupta went on to obtain MNAMS and Mch Orthopaedics. He completed 5 international fellowships over 4½ years (2008-12) concentrating exclusively on Arthroscopy, Sports Injuries Joint Reconstructions. He worked as Arthroscopy sports injuries fellow at Karolinska Institutet (Sweden) which gives the nobel prize for medicine each year. This was followed by Shoulder-upper limb fellowship at Geelong Hospital, Australia and Joint Reconstruction fellowship at Ballarat, Australia. He then moved to UK as Arthroscopy fellow at the world renowned Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham. Following this he completed Knee Hip fellowship at Dorset County Hospital, UK before returning to India in December 2012. Dr. Gupta has been a faculty member on Wessex regional registrar teaching program, UK and has supervised registrar teaching training in Australia. He has made several international presentations in key meetings of Arthroscopic Surgeons in Europe (ESSKA), Australia (SESA) and UK(W Midlands). Dr. Gupta has performed several hundreds of complex arthroscopic and joint reconstructive procedures before returning to India as a full time consultant in the subspecialty.Besides his vast experience in Shoulder Knee arthroscopy, he also performs elbow, wrist, ankle and hip arthroscopic procedures for a wide spectrum of cartilage, ligament, tendon and bone ailments.
