Dr. R D Naik is a cardiothoracic surgeon in Kakinada with 37 years of practice. He is a consultant at Apollo Hospitals, Kakinada, and has earlier been consultant cardiothoracic surgeon at NRI Medical College and Lalitha Superspeciality Hospital in Guntur, and at Medi City Hospital, AP Chest Hospital and Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad.He completed his MBBS at Andhra University in 1989, his MS in General Surgery at Rangaraya Medical College in 1996, and his MCh in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, in 2000. He has been registered with the Andhra Pradesh Medical Council since 1989. He is a fellow of the Indian Association of Cardiovascular-Thoracic Surgeons and a member of the Indian Medical Association, the Association of Surgeons of India, the Indian Chest Society and the Tuberculosis Association of Andhra Pradesh. He performed the first pump-supported beating heart aortic valve replacement in Andhra Pradesh and the first multi-vessel beating heart surgery in coastal Andhra Pradesh, and was the first in the state to use a multipurpose annuloplasty band.His work covers coronary bypass surgery, mitral and other heart valve replacement, beating heart and minimally invasive cardiac surgery, ASD closure and pacemaker implantation.
