Psychiatrists are trained medical doctors. They can prescribe medications. They mostly help manage conditions by medication management. Psychologists mainly practice behavioural intervention to treat mental and emotional suffering in patients and practice psychotherapy.

Psychologists assess, diagnose and treat people experiencing mental illness and psychological distress. They also develop treatment plans and perform psychotherapy. Clinical psychologists work to prevent, diagnose, treat, and prevent mental disorders.
