Diabetologists are endocrine doctors who have specialized training in metabolic disorders. They treat diabetic patients through medications, lifestyle modifications, exercises, and diet. Diabetologists help the patients to lower their blood glucose or sugar levels and work closely with diabetic educators, nurses, renal physicians, podiatrists, and ophthalmologists to educate, treat, and monitor the patients.
