Hernia occurs when an internal organ or other body part stick up through the wall of a muscle or tissue which contains it other than umbilical hernias in babies, it will not disappear by its own . Over a period of time, a it can grow bigger and more painful or can develop issues such as sometimes a part intestine becomes stuck in inguinal canal and results in nausea or vomiting or abdomen pain. and secondly could be strangulation ( sometimes a part of intestine is trapped that results in cuts off its blood supply) . The only treatment is surgery in the above scenario is surgery only.
