Some changes in the MRI can be just age related changes which are Asymptomatic. If you find some SCARY changes in your MRI scan, dont get afraid just call PHYSIOTHERAPIST, we will help you get moving. 

However, other side of the coin says, if you have symptoms like low back pain with radiculopathy 
(pain going down the buttock and legs), dont wait for MRI just start exercises under expert physiotherapist which can help in better improvement than surgery (acceptable condition), and recurrence changes are minimal.
