Prevention
- Vaccination: The varicella vaccine is the best way to prevent chickenpox.
- Isolation: Infected individuals should avoid contact with others, especially newborns, pregnant women, and people with weak immune systems.
- Hygiene: Frequent handwashing and disinfecting surfaces can help prevent the spread.
Home Care & Treatment
Staying hydrated and getting plenty of rest helps recovery.
Oatmeal baths, calamine lotion, and antihistamines can ease itching.
- Avoid scratching: This prevents scarring and secondary infections.
- Fever management: Paracetamol can help reduce fever (avoid aspirin in children, as it can cause complications).
- Most cases resolve within 7-10 days, but consult a doctor if symptoms worsen or if an adult or immunocompromised individual gets infected.Stay informed, stay protected!
