Check fasting blood sugar and  Hba1c if you have any of these:

Family history of diabetes 

Overweight or Obese

Had diabetes during pregnancy 

Sedentary- less exercise and more sitting job at work 

Increased abdominal circumference 

Have been diagnosed as pre diabetes 

If other problems like blood pressure, thyroid, smoking and cholesterol problems 

Checking for diabetes and treatment at the earliest is important to avoid long term complications related to diabetes
