In ayurveda corn is similar to ‘kader’ which is explained by sushruta. The repeated trauma and irritation to plantar surface of the foot results in corn.

Corn is smaller lesion which  is pushed deep into the skin forming a localised palpable tender nodule with a central yellow white core of dead cornified skin. It presses over adjacent nerves causing pain. It can get infected causing severe pain and Tenderness with inability to walk.

Acharya Sushruta and Dahan mentioned the seal of affected tension should be excused and agnikarma should be carried out with oil.

Here we have carried out treatment of corn by ‘Bindu dahan’ with the help of Panchadhatu Shalaka.

  • corn site is cleaned with normal saline
  • the red hot Panchadhatu 
  • Shalaka is applied then to cornShalaka is applied within the are of corn for 10 seconds
  • To get relief from burning sensation after dahankarma ghee is applied
  • Agnikarma introduces heat in affected area which helpful to break ‘kapha’ reducing ‘sotha’ and ultimately ‘vata’ dosha get pacify so that pain is relieved
  • Aginkarma is the only therapy which can destroy hyper Hyperkeratosis of skin
