He has been a pioneer in Femto cataract and refractive surgery in India starting his refractive surgery career from the Banarsi Das Chandiwala Eye Institute in 1996, one of the first installations of excimer laser in the country. Dr. Sharma has been routinely performing phacoemulsification with multifocal lenses, astigmatic correcting phacoemulsification etc. and keenly follows all the advances in the technology of the phaco machines and various lens designs.Dr. Sharma has been a senior consultant at the Mata Chanan Devi Hospital and at the Centre for Sight at Safdarjung Enclave. He was also the Director and senior consultant for five years at the Centre for Sight ( East) a Center of excellence in Refractive and Cataract Surgery.He has been an instructor, speaker, discussant, chairman etc. at various DOS meetings and also at the IIRSI meetings. It is the endeavor of Dr. Sharma to bring cutting edge technology to the residents of West Delhi in the field of Refractive and Cataract Surgery.

One Senior Doctor even went to the extent of telling me that I have Retina problem and have to go with a major operation.Someone advised me to consult Dr Tyagmurthy Sharma. With fear in my mind I went to see him. I was thrilled when he told me that I have only cataract in both eyes and need to be operated only for cataract.He placed several opations about the type of lens which could be used.After discussion we narrowed down to Multifocal lens.Within a gap of 7 days both eyes were operated by Dr Tyagmurthy Sharma and multifocal lens used.The operation in both cases lasted less than ten minutes. It was only after 10 days I was able to put thread in a needle.Could easily read, write and see far of things.No longer worried where I have kept my glasses. Thanks a lot Dr Sharma. I am pleased to share my experience with Dr. Tyagmurti Sharma. Before visiting Dr. Sharma I have seen many eye specialist(most popular Doctors in Delhi and Bombay) but most of them quoted me enormous charges with complicated treatments as I had allergy issues in my eye. However, Dr. Sharma settled my allergy issue within a week and successfully performed lasik operation. Next day after the surgery, I was able to resume to my normal routine life. I am great full to Dr. Sharma as I will be able to actively participate and enjoy sports and other physical activities without having the hassle of wearing glasses and unclear vision. Eyes are one of the most vital organ and making decision for getting eye surgery is indeed very scary. I am glad that I trusted Dr. Sharma for the treatment and he not only did all due deligence before, during and after performing surgery but also gave emotional support during few sensitive minutes. The service was very quick, I didn’t have to wait for hours unnecessarily. The staff was supportive and well organised. The charges were very reasonable.
