Hi, I have been using Xylomist for over two yesra now. I recently read that a similar decongestant Otrivin can cause Glaucoma and Xylomist drug can do the same. Please suggest if it should be stopped completely? I am a glaucoma suspect with family history or any injury.

Apart from risk of glaucoma, decongestants act temporarily and potential rebound of congestion. Why are you using for 2 years? Either you were prescribed by eye specialist  for short duration and you are continuing on your own, or you are purchasing OTC. Either way, the cause for your original complaint has not been diagnosed properly.

You should not use this medicine for long. It will cause atrophic rhinitis. Consult your ENT specialist if you have any nasal problem.
