My mother was admitted in Narayana hospital Bangalore on 27th May. She underwent open heart surgery for valve replacement. But after a day she suffered stroke which led to left limb weakness. She was on ventilator for 8 days after which she was successfully weaned with the help of tracheostomy and put on minimal oxygen support. Doctors were planning for rehabilitation. But everything went haywire all of a sudden. Wound infection and pus discharge at her chest incision was seen. Now doctors suggested debrediment surgery followed by three sessions of Vaccum assisted therapy and plastic surgery to cover the wound.
I am scared because she also has pneumonia with high count.
Is there any hope?
