Widespread body twitching at Rest
Hi , M 25 I was infected with dengue 2.5 months back and i developed a CLOCC/MERS in my brain ,my balance was completely off and now it has improved almost 95% , however I have developed widespread twitching everywhere in my body occurring at , I'm worried I'm developing ALS , recent vit d lv 12ng/Ml ,I feel I have some atrophy in my thenar eminence ,twitching does occur 24/7 including FDI muscles ,I'm really scared at this point,should I go for an EMG , as of now no clinical weakness , reflex's are brisk+ 3 bilaterally, babinski and Hoffmans negative .please guide

Hi. Sometimes fasciculations or muscle twitching can also be benign (not serious). As long as there is no weakness of limbs or grip weakness or swallowing difficulty and speech difficulty you can wait and watch. Mean while blood tests for serum electrolytes, calcium, magnesium and thyroid profile and imaging of cervical spine can be done to rule out treatable causes.
