White flakes can be due to dandruff, eczema or even psoriasis.Your condition should be properly diagnosed and then prescribed medicine after proper case taking. You should avoid scratching scalp as it might lead to infection.Combs must be cleaned after few days. Proper shampooing must be done.Very strong shampoos must not be used. This is not related to ur father's condition.

Hello, Flakes what you call them could simply mean excessive dryness of the scalp leading to dandruff. Here a long term homoeopathic treatment taken patiently could arise to desired output. But other measures like shampooing of hair twice a week.Dettol wash meaning a mug full of water and a capful of dettol in this proportion could be applied to the scalp before washing hair. This prevents the infection from brewing within.Hope this was helpful. Thanks and regards.
