I am a medical student. I am researching on Mycobacterium tuberculosis and I am really curious to know about what is the Mycobacterium tuberculosis gram stain? Is it a closer relative to Gram-positive or gram-negative bacterial pathogens?

Mycobacterium tuberculosis can be diagnosed by Ziehl–Neelsen stain. Gram stain is not really useful. Other tests which can detect this organism are culture, pcr etc
