Want to know about amniocentesis
My wife has 18weeks and 6 days pregnancy and her second level ultrasound reveals that baby has no nasal bone and now she had undergone process of amniocentesis also .My query is if this test shows that no problem in baby than still their are chances that baby have any kind of genetic problem

Hello....... If the baby has congenital problem but no genetic problem ,it will not be detected by amniocentesis... Cleft palate, cleft lip like congenial anamolies are not detected.. Downs syndrome, enzyme deficiency diseases, sickle cell anemia can be detected.. Amniocentesis has its own risk..
