Hello I'm Dr Nikita Iyer. This is a condition called laryngopharyngeal reflux disorder which basically is when the acid found in the stomach travels up into the throat causing throat irritation with voice change, dry cough, heart burn and sometimes even chest pain
Next Steps
You need to make lifestyle modifications - Avoid any hot or spicy foods - Avoid intake of coffee/tea on an empty stomach - Adequate hydration to be maintained. - Avoid frequent clearing of throat - Ensure to take meals on time - Walk for 30 mins after dinner prior to sleeping Apart from this an antacid can be taken to reduce symptoms. If this persists with changes in voice, visit an ENT doctor and get a laryngoscopic examination
