4 months ago I stopped taking venlafaxine after 9 years of use. I felt it wasn’t working as well for anxiety as it had used to. Around 2 weeks after stopping the drug. I started to experience nausea after eating, weight loss and ibs type symptoms. I had a CT scan, upper and lower endoscopes and MRCP but nothing found. Is it possible that this has occurred due to coming off the drug after so long? I had functional dyspepsia before I started the drug which went away, and also gained 42 pounds.

Discontinuation syndrome of venlafaxine has moderate to high severity but delayed occurrence is rare.IBS may be related to your anxiety which has increased recently. Antidepressants cause weight gain and ur discontinuation may be the reason for weight loss. Try yoga, swimming, jog, evening walks or recreation
