Difficulty in walking is due to severe pain or weakness of muscles ? Atherosclerosis can cause claudication pain because of reduced oxygen supply to muscles but if she is having motor weakness in lower limbs then a thorough neurological check is needed. Get her examined by a neurophysician in that case.
