USG Abdomen
Hi Gallbladder: Thin-walled, measuring 1.5 mm. There is a 4.8 x 4.6 x 3.3 mm echogenic focus associated with the gallbladder wall, demonstrating twinkle artefact on colour Doppler. This may represent a small adherent crystalline/cholesterol deposit; a small calcified gallbladder polyp is a differential consideration. No gallbladder wall thickening. Is this gallstones and serious ? If polyp , can it be treated ?

A small echogenic focus on the gallbladder wall with a twinkle artefact, and no wall thickening, usually points to a tiny cholesterol deposit or a small polyp rather than a true stone. True stones typically cast an acoustic shadow instead of this twinkle pattern. At under 5mm with nothing else abnormal, this is a common and mostly harmless finding.
Next Steps
Small polyps this size are usually just watched with a repeat ultrasound in a year, since they rarely turn serious at this size. No treatment is needed right now unless a repeat scan shows it has grown.
Health Tips
Please see a physician or gastroenterologist to confirm this against your full scan and set the right follow-up timing.
