Usage of Syr Gardenal side effects
My son age 66 days, after birth doctor found major heart issues, after the birth due to that heart problem his SPO2 fall upto 45, and doctors observed convulsions once and got small attack in brain as well (small encephalomelacic lession in left occipital region). due to above doctors prescribed 3 ml syr Gardenal once daily not to get the convulsion back. we cont. Syr on Daly basis since 1st day till date, and no convulsions we observed. Can anyone guide me upto how many days/ month this medicine is safe for baby and no major side effects in future.

Consult pediatric neurophysician and Get done EEG.... Regular follow up requires to see development of your baby....

till EEG report continue gardenal syp and once report done then on basis of that report medicines will be decided...

Hi, He will require the medications for a long time.
Next Steps
You need to meet a paediatric neurologist and correct the dosage as he grows. Every medication will have side effects. Is the medicine controlling his seizure, that is important because on going seizures can affect his development.
