Usage of Dexamethasone in covid
I just wanted to know whether it is safe to give Dexamethasone 4mg to the 55 year old diabetic patients, from the 12th day of treatment of Covid when the CT scan score is 6/25. It has been prescribed by a doctor who is taking the telephonic consultation but I want to have a second opinion. My father's HbA1C score was 9.8.

It is safe but not necessary.. if he is doing well..
If there are breathing issues can be used with caution, regular glucose monitering and gradual tapering..
Inhaler budamate may be alternative..

As you have mentioned that your father is diabetic, using a steroid medication like dexamethasone if required is safe, but should be done cautiously, under medical supervision.
Next Steps
If possible, get liver and renal functions and blood glucose levels tested before starting the dosage.
Frequent monitoring of blood glucose is required while using steroids in diabetic patients.
