You will benefit from tretinoin creams and chemical peels. Tretinoin is a medicine which is used for acne/pimples. It drys up the oil glands and causes regeneration of new skin. It can cause irritation and must be used after advise by a dermatologist. Chemical peel is a procedure where certain mild plant acids like glycolic acid or salicylic acid are applied on your skin by a trained dermatologist. It is neutralised after a few minutes. It causes microscopic peeling of the upper layers of dead skin and helps to regenerate new skin. It gives you a clean fresh looking skin with a glow. Chemical peels are done in sessions once in a month. The first 2 or 3 sessions will be mild peels so that your skin will be able to tolerate stronger medicines. Once stronger medicines are applied from the 3rd to 5th session you will have good improvement. I usually put my patients on creams along with peels so that they have improvement from the 1st month itself and will get better improvement after peels. It usually takes 4 to 6 months to have clear skin, after which I put my patients on a long term maintainence to prevent the problems from recurring. Please visit a dermatologist near you trained in cosmetic procedures like chemical peels. Warm regards. Dr. Rajdeep Mysore. Chirag Hospital Bangalore
