A liver hemangioma this size, under a centimetre, is a very common and almost always benign finding. It's often missed on older scans simply because it's small and scans vary in resolution and detail picked up at the time. It likely wasn't new, just not caught before.
Next Steps
Since your haematologist has already reviewed this and said no MRI is needed, that's reasonable for a lesion this small with a clear hemangioma pattern. Please also discuss this with your physician or hepatologist once, to confirm nothing else needs follow-up.
Health Tips
Get it looked at again only if you develop pain in that area, unexplained weight loss, or yellowing of your eyes or skin.
