The best option is to go in for LASER Assisted Tonsillar Ablation where the LASER is used to vaporize 80% of tonsillar tissue. The heat of the LASER coagulates the proteins in the tonsillar remnants and ensures a sterile tissue which now acts as a protective coat over the underlying constrictor muscle. As the muscle is not exposed as in a regular tonsillectomy, the post operative pain is minimal and restricted to 2-3 days and easily managed with analgesic gargles.
