The doctor who must have confirmed the diagnosis would have definitely given you the appropriate medications. There is always a chronic component associated with tonsillitis although acute exacerbation is the commonest reason for the patient to visit the doctor. Take the medications on time and follow the instructions given otherwise like warm saline gargles and keep in touch with your doctor and make sure not to avoid the follow up appointment. Regards.
