To Dr Gunjan Saini
From past one year my mother is suffering from a weird problem. Her BP suddenly shoots up as high as 160/100 and then after couple of hours or more gradually subsides. she has vomiting (only spit, no food) or nausea, diarrhea, muscle weakness, slight pain on the right side of chest and dizziness during these episodes. She has been treated with nebicard 2.5mg, vertin16mg , sebelium 10mg, hosit for this problem. But no sign of improvement at all.. these episodes do not have pattern and occur randomly. She also takes telsartan 40mg , eltroxin 25mg and ecospirin AV 75. All the tests like EEG, ECG, Echo, TMT, MRI brain, CV Doppler, Doppler for limbs, MRI spine, Holter monitoring, CBC Blood tests are all normal. When these episodes occur she cannot walk, sleep or sit relaxed. I have consulted many physicians n neurologists but nothing has helped. I want to discuss with a hematologist and check if this is related to acute intermittent porphyria?Any sort of heme deficiency? How can we diagnose?
