My symptoms initially started 6 months back with balancing issue after a month I started getting tinnitus in my left year. I had initial brain mri before tinnitus which was normal. After tinnitus I consulted ENT and had temporal bone CT done and it was normal. I had course of vertin medicine for two months but there is no change. So I went for another brain mri with temporal bone in this august which was normal. All searching over internet is pointing to acoustic neuroma. My previous mris might have missed it because tumour might be small.so I am planning to ask doctor this time for contrast MRI. Are there any side effects because of that? Any other disease that can cause these symptoms?

Acoustic neuromas will also affect ur hearing. You can do a contrast mri to be 100% sure, its usually seen in the plain mri also. especially with your symptoms the doctor will specifically look for it. Need to know the details of the vertigo and tinnitus to see for any other causes.
you can also do a Pure tone audiometry.
