Hello doctor I have been taking thyronorm 25mcg since last year as my tsh was 5.45 in feb 2020 I m currently 5 weeks and 2 days pregnant and got my tsh done few days back and it was 2.64 My doctor has asked me to increase the dosage to 50mcg I want to know is that right approach for me? If my tsh is under control (2.64) why do i need increased dose? Can i directly switch from 25mcg to 50 mcg? Thank you

Target tsh is <2.5 with Medication. 1) The dose will be increased if target value is not achieved. 2) and in general during pregnancy , the dose is increased as per weight of the mother in order to PREVENT MISCARRIAGE even if there's slight difference in achieving target value. So go ahead with what's prescribed to u.
