I have undergone toatal thytoidectomy for papilary thyroid cancer.biopsy report shows stage1 (pTaN1aM0).further I have given RAI i-131 (2.5mCi) orally.. Scanning report shows i have minimal iodine avid thyroid remnant in neck and no other abnormal uptake of iodine elsewhere in the body. Now what is my question is , is it safe to continue my thyroid tablet and check my thyroglobulin level every 3 month or should i go for radiation ablation therapy. As I'm 29 yrs old I'm really afraid of doing radiation therapy.pls help me out.

If there is a remnant then should go for radiation. Though need to mindful of parathyroid function.
