For the past week I’ve had a really bad cough. I’ve been coughing up phlegm. I don’t have a lot of symptoms of a cold. I have a little nasal congestion, but not much. Symptoms are pretty bad at night and in the morning. My chest rattles when I cough which is starting to make my chest sore as well. I take ibuprofen which seems to help the most.

You seem to be suffering from respiratory tract infection. You may need to take antibiotics and expectorant cough syrups for few days. Steam inhalation is also beneficial. If symptoms are severe and persistent you may need to take a chest x ray
Next Steps
Consult nearby pulmonologist for confirmation of diagnosis and appropriate treatment if required
