Yearly twice or thrice I have Tania versicolor on my face. And my body also. Often going to doctor...the doctor suggest to use some dandruff shampoo and cream. It has disappeared after using that. But after 2 months I have same problem

Greetings. Tinea versicolor - is a fungal infection caused by pityrosporum fungus and is not anything serious. Usually subsides with short course application of anti fungal creams / lotions. However marks may take few weeks to go. if recurrent - you may need oral antifungal and maintenance shampoo for use - atleast one day a month for prevention. Kindly get this confirmed with an examination by your dermatologist and obtain prescription from him. Or you could send me pictures. Hope this helps. Warm regards. Dr Govind Suresh Mittal. Bengaluru
