Is taking half of melmet sr1gm tablet is equivalent to taking 500 mg of melmet sr tablet?what is precisely sr?

Hello there.  I can understand your concern.  SR means Sustained Release. Theoretically the dosage is more or less half i.e., 500mg but for the tablet to be SR the tablet will need to be intact, you cannot break the tablet and expect it to be Sustained Release.  Best regards.
