Hello, i got high bp aftr delivery. Doctr had prescribed prolomet am 50mg in morning , now after one year he reduced the dose to 25mg, but i still have 5 sheets of 50mg tablets with me.
Can i cut 50mg tablet into half and take 25mg daily?

No because amlodepine content also matters. Prolomet AM 50 has metaprolol 50 mh + amlodepine 5 mg. And Prolomet 25 has metaprolol 25 mg but amlodepine 5 mg same. So you have been prescribed Prolomet AM 25 , it means you need Metaprolol 25 + amlodepine 5. If you cut Prolomet am 50 into half you will get metaprolol 25 but amlodepine only 2.5. So you can not use the 50 mg strips
