My dad had a bypass in 2007. The surgery was done proactivly, no case of heart attack. He's been normal so many years. Regular medicines and walking.he is also a diabetic for the past 35 yrs.
Is it advisable for him to swim?

Swimming requires lot of energy and a very good exercise. After CABG especially in diabetic the graft attrition rate us high. So in case of your father before swimming get him checked for cardiac stress test like TMT or stress thallium.
