Suggestion request
Hello. I am currently suffering from ear infection and was prescribed Augmentin 625. Today is the third day and I still don't have much relief. Should the medication be changed? I remember having the same issue years back, and the medicine(probably a high dosage) worked in 2 days.

Ear infection can be of outer ear or from inside the ear drum. If from outer ear called otitis external then it’s usually associated with pain and needs ear drops depending on whether bacterial or fungal Middle ear infection may have ear drum perforation and need oral antibiotics. Augmentin is good 625 thrice or 1 gram twice along with some cetrizine or Allegra. It would take few days to reduce discharge
