Suffering from Schizophrenia from 2011
Dear Doctor, I am suffering from Schizophrenia from September 2011 till date . Currently I am on antipsychotic medication SULPITAC 300 mg Twice after food in morning & night and Pacitane 2mg after morning breakfast. I still have mild symptoms of Auditory Hallucinations and Delusion (Suspiciousness) Can I take Patanjali Divya Medha Vati along with antipsychotic medication. If so how long to continue Medha Vati . Will it help in control of my symptoms if I take Medha Vati with my antipsychotic medication. As I know this disease will continue life time. What side affects can it cause with growing age after 40. Kindly give your guidance.

Divya Medha vati will mot help for reducing hallucination, it is for depression ,anxity ,sleep , memory issues etc (as they claim ).. i havent prescribed this to any patient, dont know about its efficacy as brain tonic ... If u still have hallucinations needs to modify medications. Side effects are part of almost all medications not only psychiatric medications, but they can be managed its not a big issue.

Sometimes symptoms may improve to an extent with single antipsychotic and not beyond. In such situation another antipsychotic augmented with primary drug(Sulphitac) may give u substantial improvement. *supplements/ nutrition for brain. You should choose foods rich in antioxidants as well as tryptophan rich diet and vitamin b complex *Moderate Exercise * Regarding Divya medha vati.many ayurvedic experts opine it as safe with psychiatric medicines but u must understand that it is not the main treatment for schizophrenia We don't have integrated system yet for allopathy nd ayurveda for mental health conditions yet in India For u best with be to meet psychiatrist and discus for augmentation first. I understand the burden u feel. Be hopeful and accept your health conditions And talk about your feelings to doctor and about your prognosis..

Hello, It's unlikely to help you further... better consult your treating psychiatrist... may need some adjustment in your antipsychotic medication.

Thank you for your question. As I seen you are on a decent dosage of Amisulpride. I would suggest you not to add ayurvedic agents in this case. Rather you can add an additional antipsychotic to your routine that might help.
