Sudden weight loss cause menopause?
Can sudden weight loss cause slightly early menopause? 18 months ago I had a rather traumatic surgical procedure and went from my usual healthy weight of 59 kilos to only 47 kilos. I was 43 at the time, and my periods ceased entirely for a year, then I gained a little weight and they came back, but only sporadically and very light bleeding. My GP now suspects bone density problems because I have a double fracture in my shoulder.
