Sudden onset dementia/forgetfulness
I am suddenly having difficulty in remembering common words or names or objects for the past couple of days. I am getting confused and struggling to remember facts in between the conversation. All of a sudden, it feels like my brain in numb and completely devoid of the context. I work in a high pressure environment with a lot of stress at my workplace. Recently, I recovered from Jaundice and I occasionally smoke too. Kindly recommend me what to do in this situation.

It could be agnosia. If your symptoms are sudden then MRI brain has to be done. It could be either stroke or a lesion in the brain both of which need treatment.
Next Steps
consult a neurosurgeon or neurologist.
