My grandmother who is overweight has broken her hip and is on bestest.She has developed a stage 2 bedsore on her right hip.Please suggest a remedy.Also can a bedsore be healed?How much time does it take?

Hello... Bedsores are best prevented than treated... However if has occurred already, Plz take further precautions to arrest its extension. Change of positions every 2hours, strict local hygiene and if prolonged bed rest is to continue, then an air bed would be recommended.

Next Steps

Regular dressing of the sore which u said is still in 2nd stage, with patients proper nutrition, should take care of its healing. If not healed in a period of say few weeks then a surgery might be required to cover the wound. Please consult a plastic surgeon nearby to know the best coarse of action.
